AvMed also scored improved results in Rating of Specialist Physicians, Rating of Personal Doctor and How Well Doctors Communicate.
  
• In 2008, the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), the nation’s top health care quality evaluator, accredited AvMed’s Commercial and Medicare products as “Excellent,” a distinction shared only by a select group of health plans in the country.
  
• TheStreet.com Ratings awarded us top honors (A) for our “Excellent” financial strength, placing us in the top nine percent of all health plans in the United States.
  
• AM Best, a worldwide insurance-rating and information agency with more than 100 years of history, gave us a rating of B++, or Good, reflecting three years of strong operating performance after restructuring its commercial account business, membership growth and a good capital position. • AvMed's holding company, SantaFe HealthCare, Inc., is a family of community based not-for-profit companies with more than 1,900 employees.
