A.M. Best Co. has upgraded the financial strength rating to B++ (Good)
from B+ (Good) and issuer credit rating to “bbb” from “bbb-” of AvMed,
Inc. (Miami, FL). The outlook for both ratings has been revised
to stable from positive.

Healthways, AvMed Health Plans Announce Partnership to Provide
Healthways' Care Support Services to AvMed Members (1/29/08)
Healthways, Inc. (NASDAQ: HWAY) and AvMed Health Plans today announced
they will collaborate to deliver Healthways' industry-leading support
to the health plan's chronically ill members. Under the
agreement, Healthways will provide Care SupportSM programs
to AvMed's commercial, Medicare and self-insured members living with
diabetes, heart failure, coronary artery disease, chronic obstructive
pulmonary disease and asthma. Healthways' market-leading Impact
Conditions program is also included under the agreement.

AvMed Announces Senior Leadership Changes (12/3/07)
AvMed Health Plans said today that President and CEO Doug Cueny has
announced plans to retire December 31, 2007. As a result, Mike
Gallagher, the President and CEO of parent company SantaFe HealthCare,
who already has overall leadership and strategic responsibilities for
all of SantaFe HealthCare’s family of companies, including AvMed, will
assume day-to-day leadership of the company.

SantaFe HealthCare today announced the appointment of Mike Gallagher
as President and Chief Executive Officer effective January 1, 2007.
SantaFe HealthCare is the $900 million Gainesville-based holding
company of AvMed Health Plans, Haven Hospice of North Central Florida,
and two retirement communities, North Florida Retirement Village in

Personal Medication Therapy Management Now Available for Medicare
Beneficiaries (8/2/06)
Today, FMQAI, the Medicare Quality Improvement Organization for
Florida, announced a program to help Medicare beneficiaries use
prescription drugs more appropriately and effectively. Beginning
January 1, 2006, all Medicare members of AvMed Health Plans became
eligible for community pharmacist face-to-face Medication Therapy
Management Services (MTMS) through a program administered by Outcomes
Pharmaceutical Health Care.
