In order to protect our members’ privacy and discourage identity theft, AvMed does not print social security numbers on ID cards. Instead, the contract ID card should include an “A” followed by eight randomly-generated numbers, plus a two-digit suffix identifying contract holder and each dependent. The name of the primary care physician does not appear on the card.
